About ACTS

Formed in 2002, Agencies for Children’s Therapy Services (ACTS) is an association of 40 agencies providing Early Intervention, Pre-K, and School-Age Special Education services.

The agencies of ACTS predominantly provide service in home and community settings, through sub-contracts with independent therapists, though we also provide facility-based individual/collateral, parent-child group, group developmental intervention, and family/caregiver support group services. The clinical focus includes the full spectrum of services, including evaluations, therapy, and service coordination.

ACTS is the first and most active organization that solely represents the views of Early Intervention Providers who predominantly serve children and families in their home and community settings. We serve over 30,000 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, the Mid-Hudson Region, the Capital District, and the North Country.

Legislation – S.5560-A / A.5539

Shortly the Senate will be delivering S.5560-A / A.5339 for your consideration. This legislation would end direct billing to commercial insurance of Early Intervention services by adding the Program to the “Covered Lives” fund with a fair assessment.
