About A.C.T.S. - Agencies for Children's Therapy Services
Formed in 2002, Agencies for Children's
Therapy Services (ACTS) is an association of 35 agencies providing Early Intervention, Pre-K, Special Education, and School
Age Special Education service. These collective agencies are located on Long Island and in New York City. We serve
over 25,000 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester,
Rockland, the Mid-Hudson Region, the Capital District, and the North Country.
The agencies of ACTS predominantly
provide service in home and community settings, through sub-contracts with independent therapists, though we also provide
facility-based individual/collateral, parent-child group, group developmental intervention, and family/caregiver support group
services. The clinical focus includes the full spectrum of services, including evaluations, therapy, and service coordination.
ACTS is the first and most active organization
that solely represents the views of Early Intervention Providers who predominantly serve children and families in their home
and community settings.
